The new Sandy Bridge build is complete. This NZXT Phantom is such an incredible case!

Intel i5 2500k @ 4.2ghz (38c CM Hyper 212+ @ low)
MSI P67a-GD65
2x2 G.Skill Ripjaws
Sapphire Radeon HD6950 modded to 6970 820/1400
WD Raptor 150
Audigy 2ZS
Corsair TX750W
NZXT Phantom White
ASUS 23.6" VH242H

Now I need to work on gettin' that SB up to 5ghz! :D

Yang88she, where did you get that great desktop wallpaper? :D I have three 24" monitors in a similar setup and would love something like that. Thanks!

Is that a rocket launcher to the right?

My friends and I have analyzed that shot. Knowing about guns everything there seems legit. You don't get artificial rounds for a machine gun that size. My question is about the mini-gun in the background.

Also the webpage is Yahoo Japan. So I'd say Yakuza.

This is great, really impressed.

Thanks master noran :D

Yep, very neat indeed. I totally like how the desk protrudes on the right to give more support to the "mouse" arm and how the armrests go just under the desktop (and the desktop it thin enough not to cause too much of a step). Did I mention that the color of the chair matches that of the desk? ;)

Thanks cyberkost. Much appreciated. That armrest really works well, no holding up your arm, no strain on the shoulder. The only mistake I made when designing this was not making it wide enough for three 24" monitors. I will have to make a new desk one day, maybe use real wood instead of this MDF. The chair was all Swedish moose leather (the color of the back right now), but it gets worn down pretty quickly, so I redid the seat with a charcoal Kashmir wool cover (as it is easy to slide on many modern fabrics), never thought about it matching the desk though :D The arm wrests swivels too by the way, use that feature quite a lot.

Now I am curious, gotta go find your setups :D

I think perhaps you should add one more item to that install pile. A new chair.

"No point in gaining 50 FPS in games if your ass hurts"

Working on it. Waiting for one of the chairs I have been considering to hit a certain price point. I also need to buy a new keyboard because my current one just stopped working (older MX3000, when on boot up only the f key works, tried some of the fixes online, but does not work. Works on my laptop though, so I think something is wrong with the encryption, problem is I cannot boot past the flash screen and I do not have a backup keyboard). Hoping to get the Razer BlackWidow.

Ha, yes it is... and that rocket launcher is illegal to own in the US by a cavillian UNLESS its been deactivated beyoned repair. As for the huge machine gun, you can own those. (We have a shop selling one around here, its massive and comes on a trailer :D).

Haven't posted on hardocp in a long while, Heres my room :D

Im too cheap to buy real chair(s) to sit on so my Civic seats will do for now

Ripping out motherboard and replacing in 3, 2, 1, ...

:p

That is the best use for a Macbook ever

Wire shield, got to protect them wires somehow right.

Bahahaha. This had me cracking up, seriously.

No but for battery life, durability, and looks this made the most sense for me.

Outside of the HP envy line, I am not too happy with most Laptop PC's available atm

That's a Henge Dock, right? How are you liking it? Does your MacBook stay cool fine running closed like that?

Cooling is honestly no problem whatsoever.

I like the dock a lot, although its a little pricey seeing as its basically just a piece of plastic, you have to use most of your own cables for the connectors (they do provide a few cables in the box)

I guess it's time for a 2011 update. Not a fan of apple computers but yea, they got me with their mobile devices =( .

Haha, where is this quad-core macbook you're talking about? You can't even get a 15" for under $1800 and that one is bare specs

Thinkpads are the best :p

I get a discount,as far as my response is concerned see the quote as for where the $1500 came from, but never mind, and while thinkpads are workhorses for sure they are ugly as all hell and hardly cheap.

Thinkpads are manly, for manly men who need to do manly stuff with their manly laptops.

I bought one for the durability and the support, not because it was pretty. Stuck a $50 1920 x 1200 screen in it, 8GB of ram for $80, and a 60GB SSD for $80... (Actually stuck it in the DVD-Rom bay, so now I have an SSD and a 250GB drive in there) and paid ~ $700 with 3yr On-site warranty (Open box deal). Gets 5-6 hours on the (User-replaceable *cough* ) 9-cell battery if you're gentle... 3-4 if not...

In the end it's just preference, I pick support/reliability/build-quality/functionality over how pretty it looks.
