just what it says. I'll try to stealth it, but I need a backup plan.

the DVD-ROM I'll be using is Compaq grey...so it won't look good stock...

The sticky kind!

But seriously, if it's plastic (like the front of CDroms) go to Wal-Mart or K-Mart/etc and pick up some Testor(er?)s model paint. It sticks very well to plastic. I used it about 6 months ago on all my drive fronts and it came out nice, even for silver!

You could also try automotive Vinyl dye paint, but I'm not sure if they offer very many colors.

If you want to paint the metal, any metal paint will probably work. Just don't gob it on. It's better to do multiple thin coats, than a couple thick coats. I'd also check into a sealant, something that's clear but will coat the paint in a protective-like seal. Much like they use on automobiles (you can also pick this up at an autostore IIRC).

Here is a plan...

1. Take a nice and clear picture of the case
2. Use the eyedropper of a image editing program
3. Get the color code and then find your paint!
