vpn and remote desktop connection

i want to connect to my computer at home while at school

i have a linksys wireless g vpn router

how do i set this up so it works

i know i need to enable ports 1701 and 1723
and forward my private ip address

i don't know how to forward the ports, in the setup of the router i see the option for a range of ports associate with a private ip address

anyone familiar with this router that can help?

Got it to work
 
i just allowed remote desktop connectin to work from any computer on the internet to my computer at home

i just allowed annonymous connections and forwarded all ports for my computer at home

-WOW, talk about leaving yourself wide open....
 
i said it wrong, its only allowing a certain range of IPs, which are the 3 that are associated from my school location
