Vinyl Dye and SATA Cables

Just curious, but would Vinyl Dye eat the covering material of SATA cables? I need to get to black from the red and blue cables I currently have and was considering dyeing them rather than trying to buy some (and I haven't seen any black ones anywhere so far anyway).

just use vinyl dye from your local automotive store. cover up the connectors first. good luck and post pics!
