i bought a VGA silencer because my radeon 9800 fan stopped working (so i thought). i installed it according to the sepcifications, and even did it twice to make sure nothing was wrong... the fan connector is in and the 4-pin molex is in the video card. i get video still (i did before too when my old heatsink fan wasn't working) but ... no matter what i do, the fan wont spin.
i was wondering if it might just be the fan connector on the board itself, and if it's safe to hook up the vga silencer fan onto another fan connector (it's not the same size, but the fan can run on 5v-12v... am i going to blow something up? i have an extra fan connector with my fan controller and was wondering if i could just hook it up directly that way.
