SuSE and XP dualboot w/ RAID0

I have two 36 GB raptors set as my C: drive in a RAID 0 configuration. SATA controller is integrated on the motherboard, and I had to unplug the other two IDE drives to get XP to name the array "C:" on initial install.

My eventual goal is to get SuSE onto one of the other IDE drives and have it write to the MBR on the RAID array.
What I get when I try this is to reinstall XP as trying this makes the MBR go wonky, and FIXMBR won't bring it back. Plus, all the distro's I've tried hate the motherboard and can't find the controllers on boot (Asus A7N8X Deluxe.) I've tried it with the IDE drive being C: and installing XP on the array as D: but some programs freak out if C:\Windows doesn't exist and won't install.

Anyone have an elegant solution? I am willing to wipe the array and IDE drive to get this working, but am not willing to give up XP on the array (games and heavy file use.)
