my old and good Seasonic is getting louder. anybody replaced noisy fan and kept near silent?

Yep, but it would likely be a 2pin replacement you need to look for AND you will void your warranty possibly so don't just go diving in.

If he's in the US, warranty void stickers are illegal. Opening up something isn't going to void a warranty.

If the fan needs to be replaced, try to match the CFM and static pressure of the old fan. If you go lower, you risk causing overheating issues. You may have to perform surgery on the power cable if it's a two pin fan, unless there's room to let the 3rd pin overhang on the connector. Also pay attention to polarity, if you put the new fan header on backwards, the fan isn't going to work.

all that^^ last one i did(currently in use) was a plain 3pin and just pnp'd. its a little higher rpm so a bit louder but also a bit cooler.
