Hello. Need assistance to log in remotely to my home machine from the office at work on a lan network. Im able to log in to my work computer from home with no problem using Win XP's lovley built in remote desktop feature and being signed on with VPN. At home I have a linksys router setup with Comcast ISP. Im bit confused because talking to coworkers and some advised to use progroms such as VNC or laplink, but I shouldnt need this becauese I have i have the built in remote desktop feature on XP right? Also someone else was telling me that I will need to open some ports to use and to use higher numbers due to scanning purposes and how the Firewall guys may get anal. How do I configure that part?

Your ISP and your router/firewall at home must allow port 3389.

No... type in "192.168.1.1" to get to your Linksys Router and do it there
