Quadro/FireGL how do they differ from geforce

Pretty much as the title of the thread says....what exactly is a quadro or a fireGL in comparison to a geforce card? Are these just solutions specific to 3D modeling? I hear they are mainly workstation cards, but with pricetags as hefty as they carry, I'd imagine thye do something special. And should/can they be used for gaming?

I remember a while back, cant remember where, that someone did a comparison of a Quadro and Geforce-- Geforce game out on top in terms of gaming. I believe the Quadro's are tailored for CAD/3D modeling, not gaming.
