ok i am throwing away my good old 3M 8020 after 7 years of loyal services. the lamp is dead and very hard to find and expensive so i might just buy a new one since i can get staff price at the future shop store i work at. i wonder i you guys would recommend a DLP projector (the infocus x1 is quite inexpensive at 999$ US and has excellent reviews) or to stick with a lcd projector, like a sony vs1 or cs6. at my work i have the opportunity to try for 30 days and return for an exchange full refund so i dont mind trying a few ones out.

in stock we have the infocus x1, the epson powerlite s1, the hitachi 210w, the sony cs5 es1 and cs6

what would you guys recommend? according to your experience? i want to use it mainly has a home theater setup to watch my divx from my pc / dvd player / laptop / camcorder.

From what I've read on avsforum.com the X1 is the king of entry-level projectors. If I remember correctly, it'll do both 4x3 and 16x9 modes. But do yourself a favour and read up on it there.
