I have a Philips BDM4350 and a Google TV. Connected via HDMI.

My problem is the Google TV remote controller can not adjust the volume. Why is that? I must manually adjust the volume.

UPDATE: When the Google TV is connected to my LG 55" TV, I can adjust the volume with the Google TV controller fine.

that sounds normal to me(looking at my LG tv remote and onkyo avr remote), remotes dont always control other devices.

I mean that the Google TV remote controller can not adjust the volume on the monitor. But it can adjust the volume when connected to my LG 55" TV.

Why the difference?

Maybe it does it by acting like an universal remote for the TV and not via the HDMI (which could be possible that it does it via the hmid too) ? Could see that system working automatically easier on a regular TV than a computer monitor

newer tvs have hdmi-cec that lets things that support it control each other.
