Well, trying to get oblivion to run on my girlfriends computer is proving to be as frustrating as trying to teach my grandmother how to use a mouse, don't ask
Anyways, I found this trick and also this mod that when joined together unleash the awesome power of apples.... wait... simpsons flashback. LOL
Okay, seriously, for anyone using onboard audio you should try this out. It made a DRASTIC improvement in performance. Before she was running the game at 800x600, no AA, no AF, no distant land, grass turned off, specular lighting off... almost everything off. Now, with the same performance, she can run at 1024x768 (still no AA or AF), distant land buildings and trees on, specular on, and bloom lighting on.
1. In the ini set bMusicEnabled=0
2. Download and use the quite feet mod here
Thats it, thats all I did and the performance gain was outstanding. Good Luck!
