My HP won't load the OS after a power failure!

I think that my desktop is teh ***ked. We had a power a blip and my desktop won't reboot. It will post to the bios, and I have the option of going into the boot order menu and the setup menu. I also have the option of going into the system recovery menu, but that option, along with letting it try to load the OS just leads to a blank black screen. The computer is the HP thatsin my signature. Anyone have any ideas? I am pretty sure that it is my harddrive that is ***ked because it won't load the XP.

The video card does work, because it does display the bios screen.
