MX500 and my laptop don't play nice

When I install my MX500 w/ Mousewhere 9.78, I can't adjust my buttons...anyone know how?

or should i just look into another inferior mouse? (which would suck the cockle, as I love my MX700, and have keys assigned in games to many of hte buttons on the 700 that I could mimic with the 500)
 
well if I don't use mouseware then there's definitely no way for me to adjust the mouse buttons!
 
I second that, mouseware is ass. I don't use it with my MX700 or my MX500 and I can assign the extra buttons in most games anyway.
 
Mousewear disrupted my laptop as well. If the mouse was connected I couldn't go in to hibernate either, or come out of it. A real PITA.
