Mpeg display corruption.

I' recently installed a 9800pro into a computer and the card works great in Dx tests and playing avi files but when I try to play any mpeg file the screen gets two inch thick yellow and blue bars acrossed it and the video eventually freezes.

Upgraded from AIW 8500. Removed old drivers and installed latest cats.

Anyone know what's going on here?
 
Possibly some screwed up codecs? Try reinstalling the media player you're using, as well as any codec packs and direct show filters you may have

No clue if that's the problem, but whenever I've had video corruption issues it's almost always been due to a problem with a specific codec or filter.

Thanks, SR, that's kinda what I thought.

I'll give re-installing my mp a go the first chance I get. Hope it works.
