Looking for a cheap P4 board

My friend bought some ebay-store system (against my warnings) and now he's paying for it. I have no idea what board it is - the name didn't ring a bell when i took a look at it, but it's a P4 2.4A, although the board randomly resets the BIOS and runs it at 1.7.

I want to try to hook him up with a better motherboard for a cheap price. Another friend and I are hoping to get him a 2.4C eventually, so a board that supports 800mhz fsb would be nice. I'm not to particular on what chipset (unless there's a reason I should be). ATX or miro-ATX is fine (or maybe even prefered - he likes smaller cases).

Any suggestions? Thanks.

ABIT IS7 series hands down.

I have built many systems for people with this board and it always performs great.

Both of those Abit motherboards are good ones. The primary difference between the IC7 and the IS7 is in the Intel chipset used: the i875P for the IC7 versus the i865PE for the IS7. And the IC7 is more expensive than the IS7, again due to the price premium that the i875P chipset carries.
