I have no idea what this is about, but ever since Java runtime has been on my computer, none of my games will start. Even when I delete it kills my games.

I do a system restore and it will work for awhile, but then BAM, Java comes back.

I initially had Java installed to run Limewire. Big mistake.

Does anyone know how to resolve this issue? The only thing that works temporarily is system restore, but that is a pain in the arse!!!

Are you saying that you can't get rid of it through the control pannel and using the Add and remove programs function?

Spanner, I did that but it still caused issues with my games. After that I did a system restore about a week out. Solved the problem for a bit, but Java always snuck back in.

Lower right system tray would pop a message: "need to update Java" I hate Java.

Not only that, but if I do remove it, Windows media will no longer show the video portion, just audio.

Read the XP tweak guide.

In the meantime... Update java and disable auto-update and the tray icon. It sounds like you have more issues in Windows than just java. :(
