Issues wih Radion 9000 Pro and Duel Display

I recently recieved an odl 15" Compaq monitor from a friend at work.
I want to be able to extend my desktop on this monitor, or at least be able to show the desktop while I play a game (maybe even switch between the 2 without alt+tab)

Right now it is set as a double of my desktop, 2 monitors, one image shown on 2 screens.
I can't get it to function as the 2nd display. They both are showing up as 1.

I have my main monitor plugged into the CRT on the card and a DVI-to-CRT adaptor connected to the 15".

The card is an ATI Radeon 9000 Pro, 128meg version.
 
Ok, thought I had it....

Is there a way to extend not only the desktop, but the taskbar as well?
Or have a sencond taskbar for the 2nd display?
