I had this in a thread in the AMD processor section, but I guess it fits better here.

Just looking for a second opinion, but is this RAM at least passable? I'm not looking for top of the line, but I also don't want complete crap. Then again, I just sold off some no name PC2700 RAM, so this should be a healthy upgrade any way you look at it. That and I don't have a few hundred dollars to spend. This stuff looks to be right in my price range.

I'm mostly looking at the first three 1GB kits. Thanks!

only way i would get it is if i heard form anyone that had used it. reseller ratings looks good

but that can be easily 'fixed' and often is. just read the return policy good and ram policy.

I'm not looking for the highest quality RAM, but from my limited experience this Samsung RAM doesn't look bad at all.

If I'm way off base and this purchase would be a big mistake then please let me know. Otherwise that's probably what I'll go with.

Here's where you start

http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=Komusa+ram+any+good?

I just did a simple search with "Komusa any good?" take the first link (don't go to the "compusa ram any good" as that showed up for obvious reasons just go down the list for komusa). then do a control/find - type in Kom in the seach bar, and it will take you to lot's of comment about the brand by thread. you can check ou all of the other links too on the google search. apparently it's just fine, you know it's samsung chip memory (they also use other memory chips in thie ram) so it should be fine. it's just that before i buy anything at all, and especially anything from a company or new product, or one that i have never heard about i go extensive search and read about it. seems alot of people have had good luck with the company so you should be ok.

Yeah, I've looked at Komusa and they look good. I've looked at Samsung RAM and it looks good. I was just throwing this out there to see if anyone had any first hand experience with either Komusa or Samsung. I'm just trying to get as much info as possible before I make the purchase. Thanks!

In the past, I'd bought a lot of OEM Samsung RAM with very decent results. If you get "real" Samsung RAM, meaning a Samsung built module with Samsung chips on it, they are usually very good. Samsung chips alone really tell you nothing; the module may be very good, or it may be crap.

Don't know anything about the vendor, though....can't offer an opinion there.

Good luck - B.B.S.

I figure that it's a bit of a crap shoot, but even generic PC3700 is better than the generic PC2700 I just sold. Plus I don't want to spend more than $200, so this looks to be right up my alley.
