Have a microsoft multimedia keyboard and just got a media keyboard 3000 both have the same problem. The media keys don't control the media player when it is not focused, like when gaming hitting the forward button to skip the song doesn't work.
Using windows 7 64bit, had the same problem when I upgraded the intellitype when using windows xp though, counld't use the most recent version. Older verisions work but they won't run on windows 7.
Just want to get some attention to this so maybe microsoft can get their software working with their hardware.
