How to undervolt Sapphire 290x Tri-x?

How do I go about undervolting? Do I boot into windows to do it? Let me know.

I use MSI Afterburner for undervolting in Windows, no idea for Linux I don't use it.

In order to undervolt in Linux, you have to flash your card's BIOS with your desired voltage.

+1 for this. Easy as one, two, click, done. and As for linux, sadly only re-flashing is the option to undervolt.

BIOS flashing, especially for AMD cards, is so easy I actually prefer it over software solutions. Maybe use software to find your card's happy place, but then flash it at those settings so you don't need to mess with it any more.

If you decide to go the software route, you will have to watch though because some Sapphire models lately have not exposed their voltage modification functionality to Afterburner. For that, you are stuck using Sapphire Trixx.
