Just curious how long a DVD takes to burn at 1x. Then I guess I can just do the math for the higher speeds. Thanks.

Thank you for the answer. Just another question. Is that the theoritical speed or actual speed?
Thanks

Im pretty sure its actual write speed. DVDs may take a little longer than what you calculate with that number due to begining and ending operations though.

1X = roughly an hour.
2X = 30 minutes.
2.4X = 25 minutes
4X = 15 minutes.
8X = around 8 minutes.

Lead-in and Lead-out,+ TOC writing may alter the time taken for the actual writing process.

hmm...lets say i burn a movie that is 4.7GB it will take 56 mintes? on 1x??
btw my math is not good

yeah thats right

4.7(gigs)*1024(megs/gig)/1.385(MB/s)/(60 seconds in a minute) = 57.9 minutes

+ Lead-in and Lead-out and TOC writing so about an hour
