Hard drive help?

Im currently on a p2 350mhz, it has 3xx mb of ram.

Now its primary hdd is a 5 gigabyte, i hooked up a 40 gig as the secondary, remove the jumpers, and when i start the machine it goes "detecting primary slave" and just sits there for a long time.

How can i get this machine to pick it up?

You have to have the jumpers set to slave or cable select.
If you set the new drive to slave, make sure your primary drive is set to master.
If you set the new drive to cable select (CS) make sure your primary driveis set to cable select and is on the END of the cable with the new drive in the middle.
