I get about 75 emails a day. Not bad for all the free stuff I've subscribed to. And yes, hotmail/yahoo is perfect for spam because they have bulk folders and just one click gets rid of it all.

And you definately need a yahoo/hotmail account for this stuff. I try to keep my primary e-mail as clean as possible, i hate getting spam on it. My Yahoo account get's probably about 20 e-mails daily...maybe more, i really don't check it very often, only to delete things when it's full.

If you are worried about junk mail clogging your inbox, create 2 email addresses: one that you only give out to friends, coworkers, and relatives that you check that daily. That one can be on any provider, either free, your ISPs, or your webspace's email. The other email address is what you use to sign up for these freebie things that your friends and relatives need not know about. You can really just check that one weekly, mainly to clear it out of all the seemingly robotic spam.

I know the whole routine with secondary email and such, it just got old for me to keep up with these spam accounts. Invariably they end up being deleted for non-use etc

Thats where the checking it once a week comes in. I just set it up with my primary email in outlook express, so it updates them both at once.

I just have to AOL accounts. One is ONLY used for my friends and the other is for EVERYTHING else. I get around ~50 emails a day on one. The other gets maybe 1-2 emails which dont get past the spam filters (i check my spam box every few days).

I filtered the words viagra and enhancement and it killed like 70% of spam. :/
