Hi,

What are some programs that bid for you if you can't make it? I know there are some out there that do the job really nicely. Please let me know.

I haven't bid at eBay for quite some time, but I used to use HammerSnipe. You give it the info on the auction and tell it how close to the end of the auction you want it to put in your bid in the hopes that anyone trying to outbid you won't have time to do it if your bid goes in 1 second before close of auction. It was pretty effective and it fits the bill for what you need too.
 
why not just enter the highest amount you're willing to bid and let ebay auto bid for you?

That's what I was thinking.
 
...yeah, i think it's called proxy bidding.

what do you do if the last person who bid has bid more than you are willing to bid with these programs (i suppose it would vary between each prog or have an option of what to do)
