I need to know how to clean files off my hard drive.
I have a 9.5 gb hard drive with 393mb free space.
I have moved all my documents, pictures, slideshows to my second hard drive. I have deleted all temporary internet files and recycle bin. I have deleted every program that I do not use through add remove programs. I was going to defrag but it won't let me unless 15% of hard drive is free. I don't know what is taking up all that space, how to find it, or how to get rid of it.
I am fairly computer literate but this one has stumped me.

One other problem. When I install new programs they don't show up in All Programs.

Thanks for any help.

'I don't know what is taking up all that space"

probabily installed programs? go buy a nice 120 gig with 8 megs cache, at the very least, the new performance will blow you away

running XP? Here's a couple quick things.

Turn off System Restore, or at least heavily reduce the amount of hard drive space assigned to it.

Turn down your IE cache. 50MB is overkill, really, and chances are it's set to over a gig.

That should help get some space back.

Move everything you want to keep to your second drive. Then format the first one.
