I had RH8 installed on a HD in my main rig along with a drive dontaing WInXP Pro.

I have since formatted the RH drive to be a standard NTFS format so I could have more storage in my comp.

But when the computer restarts it brings the RH boot load options of Red Hat Linux or DOS, the DOS being Windows.

Can I fix the MBR via console since I don't have a XP disk handy since they are all in storage right now.

Also, I don't have a floppy so floppy dos boot is out.

if you can get to a command prompt that will recognize "fixmbr" you're golden.

However, I've had to put in the XP disk and then navigate to the repair screen to do this. Whether this means I'm stupid or you really can't w/o the CD I don't know.
