I need a telnet program that allows you to move the cursor backwards without deleting what has already been typed.

Thanks.

Try (in order of my preference):

Putty (free)
SecureCRT
AbsoluteTelnet

You can do a google to find the links.

I 5th the motion regarding putty!. But i also like Tera term pro (also free) (available with ssh2 client from www.ayera.com), especially when configuring routers and switches.

I was under the impression that that was controlled by how the shell is setup?

Correct, but some programs will let you over ride the shell settings. It's possible to do what this person wants to with a basic windows telnet session, just need to know how to use the shell to your advantage...
