FYI - this is primarily for a video blog site...
It must be available NOW in Chicago, IL, USA!

*I'd like some first-hand USER recommendations!

Does anyone have the Samsung INNOV8 (looks very good to me)

I've only had "dumb phones" before & I'd love some advise!
- there are so many options, opinions, OS's, a better version "next month", etc.

MUST HAVE:
video camera (for video blogger location videos)
camera (with a flash) @ 5mp min.
watch movies & play music (3.5 jack too)
SD card expandable & 3G

REALLY WANTED - but can live without:
wireless headset (headphones + mic)
voice commands (to talk to the phone while wearing headset)
voice recorder (for recording meeting minutes & shopping lists)

*I'd really like some first-hand USER recommendations!
Thanks!

Further research to answer some of my own questions...

Found some good info on the Samsung INNOV8 in the user reviews here:

"There is no voice navigation. ...ridiculous for such a "premium" device.
The S60 OS of the i8510 allows... third party applications
(which offer voice-assist navigation). Some are free."

"I am extremely pleased with this phone (it makes phone calls too?!).
I wish it was US 3G capable. EDGE data speeds are very, very acceptable for me though.
Data-intensive web pages still load in a snap, and there is the WiFi chip for faster speeds."

"I've been using it for over a week and it's great!
...great feature of the phone is that it uses a standard 3.5mm jack!

The pictures and videos are excellent, sometimes you see the videos pause
(as if it's trying to catch up).

I used voice recorder for a tech talk & it had no problems recording for over an hour."

Biggest drawbacks = $$$, no 3G, no US warranty

Thanks for the reply...

Who is your provider?
Mine is Verizon & my contract expired.

What kind of package do you have / cost per month?
What do you do with your "phone"?
Do you v-Blog? (any links? PM is cool too)

I heard there are some "gotcha's" that I need to learn about RE: unlocked phones.
The guy did not give me any details... he just said call your provider first and ask.
Well, there have to be some guidelines?
Can you give me any pointers? Links?

Thanks again!
