Audigy cards and Dolby Digital

I have the sound blaster Audigy 1 card by creative. I was wondering if this card is capable of playing THX Dolby Digital Output. I just got some new 4.1 THX certified DOLBY DIGITAL speakers by Altec Lansing and i can choose from different settings from stereo to prologic (which sounds the best) and also has dolby digital except when i choose this i only hear sound coming from 2 speakers and subwoofer but not as powerfull as when in prologic...i have the lastest drivers for my audigy card, but does this soundcard support THX dolby digital?

THX and dolby digital are two different things. And your card will only output dolby digital if you are playing from a source encoded in dolby digital like a dvd. It can't encode stuff to dolby digital. The best you'll get out of the digital is stereo, but then again anything meant to be dolby digital is already in dolby digital format so you aren't missing out on much.
