Abit boards read wrong temps?

My friend told me that abit board tend to give wrong temps in the bios. Anyone know if this is true? Because i wanna start OCing with my new mobo and parts but with a swiftech MCX4000 and AS5 my bios reads my CPU running in the 50s =/ So i dunno what to do. Anyone know if this rumor is true? Or am i up shit creek?

The newer BIOS's and some prior show temps about 10*C over what they really are, your friend is right. Which BIOS do you have?

Your temps are fine. Abit boards tend to read higher than other manufacturers.
