i have a set of 8 BGA ram sinks

i want to put BGA ramsinks on my video card but i have no idea what to use for the thermal compound...

Arctic Silver 5 wont make the sinks stick to the DDRRAM...

what would you recommend for the thermal compound for ramsinks and BGA ram? (9800 pro ram)

Silver Adhesive sounds good but i dont like that 2 part mixing thing...

thanx

Some people report success using AS3/5/Cer, and holding the sinks in place with little dabs of superglue in the corners of the chip. But I wouldn't do that to my card, personally.

I think your best shot is to use AS silver adhesive. It's been designed for just that purpose.

And it probably looks more complicated to use than it really is.

yeah i tried that AS3 and superglue thing, it worked but the heatsink broke off later on...and its a nasty looking mess now...

yeah i might just try the Silver Adhesive thing then...

any other suggestions?

The silver adhesive is probably like JBweld when it comes to mixing. The chemicals only last so long when mixed, so they must be mixed on a use by use basis only. Much like most epoxy's.

thermal tape baby! not quite as effective as the compound but its not permanent, very safe and easy to remove if need be.
