hey guys new here to hard forum as you can see. just got a 9600XT Built by ATI and looking for a better cooling solution. something that is worth the money but don't want to go broke. any suggestions?
You should cruise this forum. There is lots of info about 9600 cooling. Best solution is to make your own. Unoid is using a 1U heatsink with fan http://unoid.net/9600pro/index.php. I am using a Matrox G-200 HS modded with a fan http://home.earthlink.net/~janicekreidel/. Some people are now sticking P4 and Athlon HSF's on. Be creative and show us what you can do
unless you're going to voltmod, stay stock cooling (at best just use artic silver on it). If you wanna do some voltmodding then you cna get the artic coolers or 1u's
I have the stock cooler and put AS3 on it and my temps are 37C. And that's damn good.
Although, i had to put new pins on the cooler to hold it on and they're shorter than the ones on it originally, so it is incredibly tight against the processor.
