4 in 1 drivers?

I am confused about one thing. When I load Windows XP, it will usually have generic default driver for sound...

Now you have the option of replacing that sound driver with a high quality sound driver from the manufacturer of your sound hardware.

Is this the case in Fedora Core 2? Even though I hear sound fine, should I try and find better sound drivers or is this as good as it gets?

Is this all the case with the 4 & 1 drivers that usually get on the mobo disk?

in regards to sound on linux machines, if it sounds fine, then it's probably as good as you are going to get. don't worry about it.
