Saturday is probably better. I've got some errands to run between 2 and 4 and I've got to be at church around 4:30. I can arrange my errands around your arrival. I'm leaving on a business trip early Sunday afternoon, so Saturday works best. Address:

I'm also throwing in a new Inland 120 GB SSD for a boot drive. I've got 3 750 GB drives and 3 x 1 GB drives in the 710. I'm tempted to take them out since most of their brethren have died.
The R710 has both a PERC 6i and 6e controller. Both only support up to 2 TB disks. The internal one can't be easily changed due to the specialized cables used. The 6/e can be easily replaced, but the MD1000 uses older style cable connectors. You'll need an 8470 to 8087 SAS cable if you get a...
I run TrueNAS in my homelab. You have to add a Windows VM in TrueNAS (Backblaze only supports Mac or Windows) and assign all the TruNAS drives to Windows and SMB share them across the network. An extra step, but it works and everything gets backed up.
The MD100 has 10 of 14 trays, the R710 has all 6 trays. I should have the other 4 trays somewhere, I'll look in a bit. What OS do you want? Need any other computers or DDR3?
Dell R710 2u server. Dual Xeon x5675 IIRC. Optical drive replaced with 2.5" holder, no RAM, but DDR3 is practically free nowadays.
Also have a MD1000 drive array.
Local pickup in the 20147 area.
I've got one of these:

It's a Frankenstein mobo/cpu combo using a mobile CPU. It was a huge upgrade from my 4670. Lots of videos on youtube about this board...
I couldn't find anything I loved but I needed a new case, so I found a new NZXT H7 Flow at Microcenter for $60 on closeout. It's not perfect, and it's really plain, but it's practical and has good airflow and was inexpensive.
That's just canola oil. Any organic oil will oxidize over time, reducing effectiveness. Nearly all thermal pastes are just silicone oils with various sized metallic particles suspended in them to increase thermal conductivity. Particle size, material, and density are the only real differences.
I like clamps too. I'll be using those along with the same 1/2" tubing, reservoir and 360mm rad as OP in the build I'm working on. Except I'll turn the reservoir 180 degrees so the multiple ports are on the bottom. I think that helps with eliminating bubbles and it allows a temperature sensor...
I love the new Fractal North, but it's unobtanium right now. I just saw that Corsiar came out with this for their 5000D and I think it looks amazing.

PATA is the same as Compact Flash. I think I have a pinout adapter somewhere. WARNING - the lack of TRIM and wear leveling will kill the drive if you use it for paging. I used one in a K6-III on WinXP and it killed the drive in a week. Turning off the swap paging and it ran for years.
A Scythe Ninja 1000 might be the only cooler from 2005 that stands a chance. I've got a few of those dual heatpipe type coolers from that era, and they do fine on i3 level cpus but you have to fabricobble mounting hardware for newer sockets. I have a first generation Ninja on a i5 Haswell and...
So much of the Ender 3 can be modified, it's more or less the standard for getting into 3D printing. There are several articles online about upgrading things. Start with the upgrades you can print yourself, that will give you experience printing while making something actually useful. Here is...
For $99 it's a steal, IMO.
However...I've put a fair amount of money into mine because there are just little things I find that can be better. A new solid metal hotend for higher temperature plastics, changing the default loud fans, adding a Raspberry Pi for OctoPrint, adding a glass plate...
