i think it has something to do with the mac address of the router in order to work, my father in law cancelled cable and his cable ready tv gets 100 or so channels
I have windows 7 with media player. I have the shark007 codecs but other than that no dvd player software. Video drivers are currently updated with current catalyst drivers.
I cant seem to get dvds to play in media center or windows media player. Says something about the output not being supported. I was googling and it looks like something related to hdcp. Anyone have any ideas what the problem could be?
hmmm, I just found this, I may try this instead
http://www.asciiexpress.com/webguide/ - The guy that wrote this is now working for microsofts media center team, i hope they integrate that feature to compete with sling box.
EDIT:
Apparently orb can do it to...
I am trying to do it with remote potato but that they dont have mobile phone support yet, just silverlight plugin, which for some odd reason I cannot even find the way to stream via the web browser lol
I also have a harmony, depending on the IR receiver you get, it may support mouse mode as well. As for me, I am now using myRemote for android, I get mouse and keyboard control plus full media center remote capabilites. I also set it up so I can use it over 3G from anywhere in the world lol.
Sorta, for example I can subscribe to a hulu alert for house, when a new episode is posted I would get an email. Wondering if there is a pluging for media center, or xbmc, or boxee, that I can "watch" certain shows and have a list when new episodes are posted. Maybe like a favorite shows list?
Can anyone recommend a decent MCE to work with MC7? This is just for a regular 28in crt with just a coax input (may have component have to check). I just want to be able to watch live tv and my recorded tv, id prefer something standalone like a setop box, and if possible under $99.
Thanks
I have an asus mb with hdmi and regular stereo audio from my tv and it works perfectly. I am waiting for my optical cable to come from mono price, the mb has an optical out that should work with my 5.1 system. Hopefully that will work well.
you sure you were watching a digital channel and not analog? When i first set mine up it found all the analogs and i couldnt find the digitals. I had to manually edit the guide to enable the digitals it found, now all the hd channels work perfectly and if it is broadcast in widescreen it fills...
This is exactly what I am doing, I have the cable right into my happauge and it picks up the clearqam hd channels. His problem was he cant see the encrypted ones. I believe I did mention the hd-pvr in my post.
HUZZAH, figured it out. Was those crappy drivers provided by the MB manufacture. I got updated drivers direct from AMD, and it is working like a dream right now.
now i need to figure out why it wont auto detect my clearQAM channels and I have to add them manually.
ok some more info. I was able to manually add the dtv channel and added fox hd to test. Full screen media center the video frame rate is un-watchable, however if I come out of full screen and stretch it to the edges of the tv it works perfect. Cpu usage is only at 13%, any idea what the issue...
Is there some software or setting somewhere that can notify you when new episodes are available. I realize this is a long shot, but i am using xbmc, boxee, and wmc, it would be nice to know when a new episode of house is available for example and to be able to launch it from whatever app sees...
it autodetected my tv resolution as 1920x1080 1080p. I guess I should look up my model number and determine my max resolution, I am pretty sure that is set right. I mean the pc portion of it looks great and everything fits awesome (had to use the overscan setting in ati control panel).
EDIT...
I will test the tv as it has a tuner built in as well. It works fine on the cable box, even the non hd channels look good (but they are digital).
I may try the open source ati drivers instead of the boxed ones. Even though hulu looks great, i also get some jumpiness on that. Like you can see...
I seem to be having a problem with live tv being jumpy. It is REALLY bad with live sports where things are moving fast. It is on the standard analog channels (for some reason I can only get 8 digital to show up but that is another story).
I am able to play a 1080p mkv fine over my network so...
Apple TV does play local content via your itunes library and airplay, but still not as flexible. I am building my own htpc, gives me the most flexability.
