Just looking for a window-less cover for the Aspire Q-Pack case. I have the one with the three windows, and the combination of cheap plastic and my sometimes less than gentle handling of the cover has resulted in ugly scratched windows. Plus, I think it looks better w/o the windows.
Been looking for one for a couple weeks as a birthday present for myself. Can't really afford to go with a new mobo and processor to step up to PCI Express, but I figure the 6800 Ultra would be a nice upgrade from my 9800XT. If you guys have anything, lemme know!
The PSU that comes with the Q-Pack sucks. After I put mine together upstairs in an air condtioned room, I had the system running, just idling mind you, and for some reason my mom decided she needed to touch the PSU, and she was sorry she did. Almost hot enough to the touch to burn your finger...
Mine's in my sig, nothing real special. Its all in a black/silver Aspire Q-Pack, and has a 450 watt CoolerMaster power supply. Also, a 36gb Raptor for the system and games, and 120gb ata100 WD drive for storage (that thing has been thru a lot of crap from me, and just keeps going...)
It kinda depends on the case you choose. Personally, I have a Zalman CNPS-7000 AlCu in an Aspire QPack. It fits with plenty of room to spare.

Take a look at that link to see some pics of stuff installed in the QPack.

I got a CoolerMaster RealPower 450W PSU in there with the NEC drive. I had to only use the rear-most mounting screws on the NEC so it could slide forward as much as possible and still be mounted tight. Its a VERY tight fit, but it does fit. The cabling is a mess, the case is slightly tweaked...
I just got mine put together today, and on an ASUS p4p800-VM the CNPS-7000 fits with room to spare. Now I just gotta figure out if I can fit a full size ATX power supply in it with my NEC 3520. I was copying some files to one drive from another, and noticed the LEDs in the power supply fan...
Anyone just happen to know if a Zalman CNPS7000 will fit on an Asus P4P800-VM in an Aspire X-QPack case? I was thinking how great the small case would be, but I'm not sure I wanna sacrifice my CNPS7000 because it works so damn well and is so quiet. I've had a big, loud machine for a long time...
I LOVE the Z680's. Although I think they were meant for a room much larger than mine.
Auravision EluminiX. I love it. Has keys like a laptop, its small, and has an EL panel under the translucent keys so you can see the keys in the dark. Its rad for LANs, and its not bight enough to...
I need some recommendations as to high quality gigabit network cards and a gigabit switch with at least 10 ports. The boss wants to upgrade from 10/100 in the office (5 Windows 2000 Pro machines, peer-to-peer network), and we want to make sure we buy good quality parts that are going to last...
Good idea. I was looking at the main page at work and I somehow missed the networking section.

Hopefully this stuff will all be a birthday present, so I'm not so worried about price. Just gotta remind my dad that he got my brother a $1000 b-day present in February, and I think I'll be good.
Everyone, thanks for all the info. Now that I've got some basic knowledge of the current AMD...
Ok, thanks! I thought 940 was the new one... I haven't had an AMD system since my Athlon T-bird 750, so I don't really know what's going on with the AMD stuff, just that from what benchmarks I've seen of games and apps I use, the Athlon 64 seems the way for me to go in a new system. Thanks again!
jubei, thanks for the links. one more question, is there any advantage to the socket 940 parts? Isn't that the newest socket the A64 comes in? If so, I'm assuming its more expensive than either the socket 939 or 754 stuff. Thanks again for the links!
My birthday is coming up in about a month, and I am wanting to upgrade my P4 rig to an Athlon 64 system. I'm not really up on the AMD side of things right now, so I'm looking for recomendations on a good motherboard for gaming and some light overclocking. I'm a wimp and just stick with air...
