Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite Put Through Graphics Tests, Beats AMD Radeon 780M iGPU in 3DMark

Hee hee.... sort of reminds you of pre-Proton (Steamdeck) days of not having many (Windows) games in Linux. I'm sure everyone is "right on this", getting their games ready for Snapdragon X. (of course, it does depend on Microsoft's commitment on this... so, gaming could happen... maybe...)

Target joins Best Buy and discontinues sales of DVD's and Blurays

True, but maybe "less true" in today's "small world". I know that if you're not afraid to deal with region issues, you often get certain content when you go "outside" your own country. Many years ago, I did that to get "Bringing Up Baby" (the old Cary Grant classic) on DVD. Of course, soon...

Target joins Best Buy and discontinues sales of DVD's and Blurays

To me, it's hard to predict "what will last". I mean, I don't like disco, it was a short lived fad. I think rap is far worse, yet... here we are. Doesn't make sense to me. Almost random.

I don't think the idea is to "cease brain activity", those that are trying to protect "our ground" realize that you also have to ensure longer term use. However, I know of lots of companies that appreciate what you just said.

Me too. I'm not ready to expose my belly for free for everyone. Not going there. And IMHO, those that "give in" the "those with our best interests at heart", well, it may sound like it's a good thing... but maybe it isn't. Be careful not to blindly trust because it's "cool to do so." (but...

But, by that (somewhat flawed) argument, CDs/DVDs/Blurays must come into "itchy-ness" at some point. Regardless. I've got a frame grabber.... there is a "solution" to streaming madness and it's built-in "lack of reliability". I strictly have "the devices" for the purposes of putting the...

Yeah, the world is changing. If we can skip the weird return to easily damaged vinyl, people today don't have "cd" players, and more and more don't have "blu-ray" players (and DVD, etc.). I still have a lot of "give away" CDs (music), just nobody to really give them away to anymore (sigh)...

Where can I find a power supply cover shroud?

Behold... the anti-solution. Pull the wires out even more, undo any cable management. use lots of colors for cables (take off any sleeves), set a new design trend. "We bought this pre-built, and see the amateurs tried to color coordinate, bind and hide all the cables. Sort of old school."

OLED is "ok". At lower resolutions, there are issues. But, most things being 4K, I guess the whole "pixel arrangement" issue isn't a huge deal. Of course, there aren't any "tiny" OLED monitors currently (and that might be related). In short, it depends. I'm happy with my IPS, and can't...

Move away from unsafe FAT on USB sticks or disks, use ZFS

The "reason" you use things like FAT/vFAT/ExFAT is for compatibility. You're not going to just plugin a ZFS "whatever" into "something" and have it automatically understood. Even in the case of typical computer OS's, ZFS isn't necessarily understood by a default install. So, "having" access...

The better devices will have DRAM cache in addition to SLC and so, for some use cases, dramatically out perform them. Just being honest, the only short term failure I've had was with a current gen Samsung EVO SSD (SATA) drive. RMA was easy and I got a replacement. That might be the other...
