The clock in the upper left corner of ourcolony.net counts down to the "official" unveiling of the Xbox 2 (or 360) on MTV May 12. Sorry if this is a repost, just figured it out. :)
So, after shelling out 50 bucks for the absolutely amazing Xbox Precision Cordless Controller for Xbox (which you should definately pick up, it's incredible), I need to get a communicator for the Xbox. I am about 13 feet from the Xbox (which is why I needed the cordless controller in the first...
If it's a Socket 754 set-up, the MSI K8N NEO2 PLATINUM (yeah, the model name is in all caps) is a great motherboard. NForce 3 250Gb, ton's of onboard stuff (4x SATA, 2x PATA, 3x DIMMS, great overclocking options). Built two systems for friends/family with this board, comes highly reccomended.
A quick addendum:
If you wanted to make a capacitor that could hold one (1) Farad (a relatively large amount of capacitance) that used air as a dielectric and had the plates 1mm apart, each plate would have to be something on the order of 11,292,659.4 meters squared, or about 3360.5 meters to...
If you've been reading about the ABIT faulty-capacitor lawsuit, you probably know by know that the capacitors on ABIT motherboards had a nasty habit of oozing electrolytic fluid. For those of you who don't know what electrolytic fluid is and/or how it applys to electronics, here's a quick...
Absolutely, 100% Antec. The best affordable brand by a long shot, you can find their ~350 Watt PSU's for around $40-60. The damn things are reliable as hell, deliver constant, clean power, and are (depending on the model) pretty silent.
The two games are so vastly different, not just in terms of weapons or actual game items and the like, but in terms of netcode and the way that bits are handled, that it'd never work.
On the plus side, in Longhorn, the next iteration of Windows, there is rumored to be the ability to play PC...
Don't discourage him from playing what was widely regarded to be one of, if not the, top games of the year. The ending was not unsatisfying, because it basically guaranteed a Halo 3. All trilogies have cliffhanger endings, that's just how the producers get you to come back for more. :)
I second this motion. I have the same problem. You try to crouch (C), and move forward and strafe right (W and D) and it goes BEEEEEP and won't accept more than two inputs. Grrrr.
PGR 2 is good, as is Burnout 3.
If you're patient, and like shooters, Ghost Recon 2 can be a lot of fun, and simultaneously frustrating as hell. Once you figure out some tactics (it's not Halo, things move a lot slower), you'll really enjoy it.
And, of course, Halo 2. Collector's Ed., if...
Props on using the words fast, firing, and nads in the same sentance. :D hehe...
I was personally fond of having the G36 (excellent medium and long range weapon, great grenades, etc.), or, in some sections, the OICW (the grenades were fantastic on it, but as a rifle, I favored the two-level...
Which is why the Xbox 2 will come with standard USB ports so you can plug in the KB/Mouse of your choosing. ;-)
Honestly, I don't mind the dual shock controller on the Xbox, but I'm a LOT faster with the Keyboard and Mouse.
I don't know why they couldn't have made a keyboard and mouse set...
Thanks for the tip, Filter. And mine did work when I broadcasted my SSID. Problem is, when I had SSID set to broadcast, all the other computers in the house on wireless quit working (they wouldn't receive new IP addresses from the router, so they went into "Little or no connectivity" mode)...
Help me out fellas.
I need to set up my Xbox to play wirelessly, and I just got the Linksys WGA11B. It would be great, if I could get it to connect!
I am not broadcasting my SSID (for some reason, when I do, all the other wireless computers in the house begin to act screwey). I do NOT have...
Has everyone here forgotten? The Pancor Jackhammer from Far Cry was a total gas. Fully-automatic magazine-fed twelve-gauge destruction dealer. It was hardcore, especially against mercs.
Second place would probably go to Halo 1, or the Quake 2 Shotty.
Yeah, I hear that bridging through a wireless computer is really laggy. I think I'm gonna stick with a router/wireless adapter. I have a BEFW11S4, and it's been good, except lately it's been cutting out in the middle of HL2:DM, CS:S, and Halo (for the PC). Maybe it has to do with the wireless...
That's the one I want, but www.bestbuy.com doesn't have it in stock. Fortunately, I think that my local BB store may have it in stock (the "Is your product available in a store near you?" thing said it was, but I am skeptical about them).
I NEED to go wireless, folks, in order to play Xbox Live. However, I'm having a damned hard time finding any of these things to buy.
If you know of an online store (an preferably, a reputable one) that has one of the following in stock, please let me know:
Microsoft MN-740 Xbox Wireless...
Thanks for all the replies everyone. Now I know I have to get it. :-) The tricky part will be finding a cheap optical audio cable... the only ones I've seen (though, to be honest, I haven't looked around much) are the monster-ly expensive Monster cable ones, that are like 40 bucks... that's the...
So, as you may know by now, I got an Xbox for Christmas, and am in the process of slugging my way through the single-player modes of Halo 2, GR2, and PGR2.
I want to get on Xbox Live, but my router is way the hell downstairs. Moving it upstairs is a no-go (no cable jack available for the...
Thanks a bunch man, this was exactly the kind of thing I was talking about.
Worst comes to worst, I guess I could always reach behind the receiver every time and disconnect and reconnect the other component video input (which, I believe, is connected to the DVD player, which doesn't get used...
Hey kids,
Got a brand new Xbox for Christmas, and I've been playing the hell out of Halo 2 (beat it, loved it), Ghost Recon 2 (tough, but hella fun), and Project Gotham Racing 2 (Kudos Points=Much Love).
Anyways, I saw the Xbox High-Definition AV Kit the other day at Best Buy, and I got to...
Over Christmas (or, for the politically-correct, Holiday) Break, I'm going to be building a new machine for my aunt. She does graphic design and such things on Illustrator, Photoshop, etc., so she needs big drives, and she also needs reliability, as this is her job. So I want to put a RAID 1...
So, I'm looking at an SK43G, and I was wondering (for all ye who own one and know about it more than I do): though it supports only a 333MHz FSB, can you flash the BIOS to support a 400MHz FSB Athlon XP?
thanks all
cold
So, I just won a SN43G Shuttle system through TweakTown's wallpaper contest.
That makes me a happy camper. :D
So now I have to figure out what to put in it. The system is a VIA KT400, 333MHz FSB system. I was thinking of the following specs for a mid-range, gaming PC that'll be much...
Okay fellas, I spent Friday night at a friend's house playing teh Halo 2 and absolutely loving it. I decided that, seeing as how I think I'm the last man on earth without one, I should get an XBOX and some Live so I can kick some ass with my buddies. So I'm looking for suggestions for games to...
[H]'ers:
I NEED a new keyboard. My old PS/2 Logitech (bless its heart) isn't cutting the mustard anymore.
My problem with it is that I can't press more than two keys per "sector" of the keyboard (like the WASD region) without getting a nasty BLEEP from my computer's speaker. For example...
