trying to find out if a 2xx opteron work on single socket 940 mobos? Anyone know for sure? i've found one reference to it and doesn't seem to work, but i'm not sure if it is something specific to that mobo and manufacturer.

I've been wondering how much extra load these things will put on the cpu compared w/ onboard solutions that come on most motherboards. They appear to be hardware controled, but wouldn't there be CPU cycles used up because of the extra load on the USB?
