I want to apologize for not having more available to post, I do still intend to get this project finished but I have been dealing with some serious marital issues over the last few days and case modding (obviously) needs to take a back seat.
I know that this update is not required of me but...
Project: Ventchat
Hello everyone, I can't believe I'm finally getting off my a$$ and getting to work on my next case mod...it's been far to long. This project holds a lot of meaning as it's not only my first project since my Shuttle bit the dust but also the first case mod I've done that is...
This is looking simply outstanding so far and Hybrid...I'm sorry if you think it matters how much money you throw at a mod, some of the most classy and groundbreaking stuff I've seen has come out of builds that were much more budget oriented.
I give coolmiester credit for the original take on...
I'm not sure I would have even noticed right away, would have looked a lot nicer had they both ended up being the grey/nickel plated version. Are you able to return it? I know I'd probably be willing to take a re-stocking fee hit if it meant straightening it out.
I made the same change with the mini P180 that my wife is now using, if you only need a single hard drive and optical drive it's more then worth it to yank those things...shame on Antec for not letting us install the intake fans with the drive cages in place. :(
In my opinion it would be GREATLY worth the time and adding/modifying holes in the back of the case as subtle as those should pose no real threat or negative side effects.
The main thing is that you realize there's remaining potential for the build and it's up to you to ease into the...
Cry, that is probably one of the cleanest LiLi builds I've seen in awhile...and considering I'm not a fan of the case that's saying a lot! :p
I completely understand the practicality of the PSU extender but it looks as out of place as an external radiator IMO, completely justified in your...
This is exactly what a Level 10 mod needs to be...not something I'd pursue personally but a great looking project none-the-less.
Keep the updates coming!
kniah, I'd run the 8pin power cable under the video card up the edge of the motherboard or yank the whole board and run the cable under it entirely. Also, if you do flip the PSU you should easily have enough slack to run the hard drive power cable under the drive and up...similar to the SATA...
You may label it as unoriginal but I still can't wait to see where it goes. I'm not a huge fan of the 800D but a cleanly executed mod will be equally impressive in any case and you're off to a good start.
Not only does Core Damage appear to be purely overkill...LinX still proves to be one of the most reliable and updated options that's actually recognized by Intel. LinX allows you to load down 100% of your available memory as well and will still produce more of a heat load on your CPU then...
This is a common school of thought but you really don't know if or when something will happen. I'd much rather spend a few hours stresstesting my system then deal with finding out the hard way when it locks up in the middle of a game or something more important.
Not having to worry is more...
A few really amazingly well done systems lately but I still can't get on the individually sleeved wires bandwagon...just looks messy to me. :(
Just personal preference though, you guys have done some amazing things with your rigs. :D
I would try LinX instead of IBT, the settings within IBT do not completely replicate LinX and there have been a number of people who have issues with IBT (including myself) that are not reflected on their system stability. LinX is the much more widely accepted test and I would urge you to give...
Sorry for not clarifying intially...my bad. :(
I have been using the online speedtest directly through my ISP to measure download and upload speeds. The tier of connection I currently have gives me $hit for upload but in terms of download speeds the laptop comes in at 10.5Gbps and my wife's...
Just wanted to throw my situation to the wind and see what some of my fellow [H]'ers thought.
Within the last 24 hours I had been noticing some abnormally poor download speeds and latency in WoW and it wasn't until this afternoon that I actually took the time to start looking into some of the...
Other tests have their own purposes they try and serve but the truth of the matter is that LinX will stress and strain your system more than Prime/OCCT/Folding ever will.

IntelBurnTest is more or less a re-skinned form of LinX and...
The pictures are still on the way, the "incoming" phase of all this has been drawn out a bit but I should have everything in hand late today or early next week. :)
Again, I would respectfully ask that discussion not be focused on the company supplying the hardware. I did not mention DogHouse Systems as a sales pitch, I was merely trying to remain public about my current involvement in a new project.
I don't want to throw a huge fit over this or turn the...
I can see in a face value sort of way where you're coming from but I'm trying as much as possible to make my [H] postings about the hardware and the information...not the company from which it came.
I'm willing to chat via PM's but I do intend to keep the forum thread(s) as clean and "to the...
Don't you worry...this deal has been in the works quite awhile and I'll be taking a healthy amount of pics for this thread before I start a new one to record/display testing results.
That case makes my eyes cry. :(
Is there at least room for you to spin the hard drive around so the cables aren't arcing over everything else to get to the drive? No room behind the motherboard tray I take it?
Man, some of this stuff's going back a ways now...I've got a new project in the works between a couple companies/podcasts and I'm looking at relaunching my "venture" locally under a new name and with a lot more structure.
Thanks for the words of encouragement though, same old same old. ;)...
The hardware should be shipping out today...things got busy on DHS's end but I'm looking forward to detailing the whole process and should have a tracking number soon. :)
It's about damn time I had something to post for you guys after being gone for waaay to long.
I've been doing a lot of work with DogHouse Systems over the past few months and am going to be spending a great deal of time overclocking/benchmarking a couple systems to aid them with component...
I can't believe it's been so long...and that I'm finally coming back home. :)
Aside from whatever else I might have going on I wanted to make sure to let everyone know that I'm taking inspiration from a number of quality Lian-Li mods along with my own experience to get started on my next...
