I just put the card in a new machine (14700k/z790) with a different PSU (hx1000i) and still using 1 daisy chained power cable without issue.

I have an EVGA 3080 FTW3 Ultra since new and I use two cables (one being daisy chained) for the three 8 pin plugs. There SHOULD be no issue doing that... My psu is an old Corsair Ax860i

So, can one run an 11700k at gear 1, higher than the stated 2933ghz? I have 3200c14 ram, is it possible to do that 1:1 or will I have to go with the 11900k for that?

I'm getting in the mood to upgrade my six year old Z97X board (by far the longest I've gone with one build). Call me crazy but a z390 and a 9600K running at a decent speed (4.8-5.0ghz) seems like plenty of power and features for me.

I used to buy a lot of Mushkin RAM, never had any real issues with any of it. They have been around for a good while and I would not hesitate to buy their ram if your board supports it.
