Agreed. The built in IMF with Exchange is a decent, no cost solution. To aid in administration, we purchased IMFTune which give us a much better interface to customize the IMF filters.

I've used Transcenders in the past and was quite happy with them, but its important to use them properly. Study hard, then use the practice test to guage your readiness.
I've used books from almost every publisher, but now I tend to just use Mark Minasi's "Mastering" books and assorted white papers, TechNet, and KB articles.
