I have also tried different AGP gfx card (was slightly limited as the AGP connector is keyed for AGP 8x cards only), but I also tried an old Trident 3D PCI gfx card. I also tried clearing the CMOS, trying the SATA controller in different PCI slots, hell pretty much everything I could possibly...
The only thing I can think, is that the SCSI drive (it was connected to a 29160N, running XP Pro), wasn't too happy about being swapped over to a new system, but saying that, the controller has built-in SCSI BIOS and it does boot, but crashes at the same GUI loading that the SATA drive does...
Evening All ! I wonder if anyone could help me with the problems I am having with my work pc. I recently built a new system with at the time, almost latest components, including an XP 3200, 512MB DDR 400 Crucial RAM, Abit NF7 v2.0 motherboard, Seagate SATA HD, GeForce FX5200, Adaptec 1205SA SATA...
I don't believe there is a law to say you can't do this kind of thing, but either way, we aren't here to help with going around any policies currently in place on your network.

I have a Firebox II firewall, works great and has excellent throughput, including VPN....

If you spent a few thousand dollars on the firewall then you will have a LiveSecurity support package with it, which enables you to get 24/7 technical support (including software/firewall updates...
ah, it appears my CD drive wasn't reading the CD correctly, I did a reboot and it now recognises the CD...
unfortunately however, the only way I could get to select a custom game was to manually navigate to c:\sierra\half-life and load the HL.exe executable, which allowed me to activate the...
Evening All, I have downloaded "Case Closed" for Half Life and installed correctly, but when I go to activate the game (custom game), then it asks for my Half Life CD. I have inserted the CD in the drive (legit copy, registered with Steam), but it doesn't appear to recognise or attempt to read...
Garzilla04, I suggest you speak to your network admin, you will get an official answer from them whereas we will just be guessing or going from past experience. We are also unable to offer any help with going around any network policies that have been implemented.
<< Please dont link in virii/trojans etc, none of us want to get infected, intentionally or not. I suggest if you want someone to look at a possible virus you send the link to a virus software vendor, they have dedicated teams to analyse virii etc.....
iNsAnE_crAzY, we cannot help you circumvent the security policy set on your network, which includes cracking passwords/aiding in the retrieval of passwords from other people's equipment.... I suggest you speak to your step-dad, I would imagine the lockout was for a reason, which you may...

Private Citizen , these are the maximum speeds;
10Mbps - 1.25MBps
100Mbps (you guessed it) - 12.5MBps
1000Mbps - 125MBps
remember these speeds are without QoS or IP overhead, your 9MBps of transfer is pretty good ;)
9MB is pretty good, the maximum you can get is 12.5MBps, thats without IP overhead and QoS...
talking about QoS, do you have this enabled on any of your window boxes as this will slow down the connection, but only slightly....
locking this thread as it seems to have got a little out of hand.... I would imagine that messing with any kind of remote trojan is not allowed by these forum rules, as this is also known as cracking/hacking (whichever way you want to look at it).....
I once fiddled with Netbus, back many...
another thing to point out which many forget is that NETBios is a non-routable protocol.... meaning your private network will not be viewable (or broadcasted) over the internet.... however this does not prevent anyone from talking to your NETBios sessions (Ports 137 to 139)
if you are going...
not wanting to take away the opportunity for FLECOM to get the router, I would consider listing it on eBay instead, you will get $300+ on eBay for it, depending on the configuration etc
you will find however that all potential buyers will want to see a "sh ver" and other diagnostics screen...
I used to have a couple of these hubs many many years ago, pretty reliable until one by one the PSU's went pop (I was told the windings in one of the primary step up transformers was damaged), apparently a common fault with these hubs.... I still have a spare 10baseFL module I removed out of one...
yeah, someone stole my rack, hehe, dont worry, I am getting a loan from the bank shortly and converting the garage into a mini-datacenter (better electricity supply, aircon cooling etc), I am off work for a week to sort this stuff out with the bank then, I am going to buying a DELL rack (new)...
agreed, if you are good at eBay then you can get some bargains, depends on what you are looking for.... an all fibre switch might cost quite a bit, but you might be better off buying a standard copper switch and purchasing media converters.... these can be picked up relatively cheaply...
okies, you asked for pics, here are some pics, these were taken on the 1st March;
New Dual P3 500MHz FreeBSD Server (all bits are brand new, 2x Intel Pro 100 S Server Adapters), I have yet to purchase the RAM, SATA RAID controller (as the Adaptec one I bought is not compatible with BSD) and...
im keeping my eye on his posts and thinking of deleting them, as to be honest it all looks bullshit tbh, excuses after excuses !
you know what it sounds like ? that thread on DSLReports recently, about the kid who claimed to have "fibre modems" and ran a webhost from his bedroom on a dell...
Toshiba make one, I can't remember the name, but it looks a lot better than the one you had showed us... it also supports 2x hard drives, wireless, built in 8port switch and runs Linux (but runs Samba for example for network sharing), however before you rule this out, everything is configured...
then how will you connect to it if you dont have serial ? you can't connect Ethernet to a serial cable ! Remember, just because the Cisco cable is RJ45 does not mean its Ethernet ! Cisco use that as its possible to use it with different modulal Serial connectors, e.g. Male/Female DB9 or DB25...
