No experience with the gig. 10 years AMD/Radeon/Asus/AMD ram and SSD/G Skill Trident Z/Sabrent GEN4 NVMe/Watercool/EK Not one failure. Boots out of the box. Still works when it's so old that I junk it for newer TECH! Guys refuse to use a static mat and a static strap.
I run the Asus Thor 1200 and like the Seasonic it's built on, it does have the switch. Two of the last three Silverstone P/S I've owned the 3.3 volt supply would drop so low in voltage it would kill the system.
How long have you run this card? The fans and fins could be covered in dust and dirt. Smoking puts a sticky surface on those fins and you get more dust. Contact cleaner will fix that but do it with the cooler removed from the gpu. In some parts of my country rental pc's come back dead and they...
Or just get the case off your desk. I run the case/modem/wifi across the room on a seperate breaker with an AC line conditioner for the P/S. Asus Thor 850/1200 are Seasonic's top platinum P/S with custom giant Asus heat sinks. Thor has a switch on the back for fan silent mode...
Fan off silent mode: Then all the heat goes up into your case and your fans speed up. I don't know any users that demanded companies produce silent mode P/S.
I ran 4 x 8GB Trident rgb (GTZRX) then I tried the 4 x 16GB Trident royal. Now I run all 96GB @ 3200MHz 14 14 14 34. It's only $15 to add a 32GB AMD/DRC RamDisk that clocks 8000/8000.
I get lost on that junction temp/edge temp stuff. I just look at cpu clock throttling. EK copper 45mm x 140mm x 420mm Watercool Heatkiller block and res/D5 pump. Exact same setup on an EK Radeon VII block. Just flawless.
"to load 43.11837 milliseconds faster" That's because your on an old tech Intel with PCIe GEN3 cpu lanes. When Intel catches up, utube will tell you how wonderful PCIe GEN4 plus is.
With guys standing in line for a $1500 GPU, I don't think it's going to be all that long a time. If HW suppliers and Game developers don't get their ass in gear the PS5 market will take over the industry. APU's don't generate the corp profit they make on top end cpus and gpus.
I run 5 2TB and one 1TB Sabrent GEN4 TLC drives. I don't have the $ to upgrade them to GEN4 PLUS. 7000/6600 is just a new controller on the GEN4 drives. The circuit bandwidth is 8000/8000.
When it's M.2 direct to VRAM we may see better load times with GEN4 PLUS drives. Half the load time...
You have one M.2 mobo socket off the cpu. AM4 has 24 total. 8X 8X PCIe hard wired. One M.2 4X hard wired and One chipset 4X. I've seen the block diagrams for X570 boards. If your first gen 1080Ti is ok with GEN3 8X, great. I haven't seen that tested with a 3080/3090 or a 6800XT/6900XT. They...
With Nvidia you must pay for the PRO drivers and apps. With AMD the software is free. Did you see an Nvidia running an Nvidia App Vs Radeon with the Radeon running the free AMD Pro drivers and app? utube will not show you that. utube won't mention the price of pro drivers from Nvidia either...
You fail to recognize that a HEDT is a trade and with the right gear is master of all purpose. Not everyone is just a toyboy. The "personal computer" was in every office in the country before anyone had a toy box PC at home. My budget HEDT has more compute power than the IBM 360 that drove the...
Nvidia didn't go to gen4 gpus for no reason. Radeon VII didn't go to a GEN4 Radeon Pro VII for no reason. DDR/cpu/gpu/NVMe updates for different components may come in stages and the real difference may not show to the user untill all the parts have come up to the new generation. I don't throw...
GPU GEN4. If all I have to work with is one X16 or two X8 sockets, a GEN4 gpu running GEN4 8X leaves me a second socket for another device at X8. Using a GEN3 gpu takes all 16 cpu lanes and an X570 board is out of lanes.
GEN4 GPU. I have 2 X16 sockets for a total of 8 NVMe drives. A GEN4 GPU will run full bore on a GEN4 8X PCIe lane. On a X570 you have 2 8X GEN4 sockets or one 16X socket. Using a GEN4 gpu in an 8X socket leaves you another 8X socket for drives or other devices. If you run a GEN3 gpu, well...
Yes.The Agesa mods did add 3000/3400/3600 but 2933/3466/3733 are AMD speeds not Intel XMP. Watching people try XMP for three years is why I say it's hit and miss with XMP. IF is 1:1 at 2666/2933/3200/3466/3733 with the memory clock. AMP speeds. Even the guy that posted the thread said "it worked...
Yes. How many sticks and single or dual rank can make a difference. 4X8 3200C14 clocked 3466C14 with one click in the bios, but 3733C14 wouldn't boot. Buildzoid cpuldn't get 3800 stable, but got 4000 stable, but with an increase in latency over the stock c14. Samsung B-die works at a bunch of...
3600MHz is an Intel speed. XMP steps are 200MHz. 3000/3200/3400/3600. AMD uses 266MHz steps. 2933/3200/3466/3733. Agesa add on's gave us 133MHz steps, so 3466+133=3600.. This may work on one cpu/board but not all boards. I have seen a hundred complants just like yours. And everyone was an Intel...
I watch utube to find out whats new. If they review gear I own, then I point out what they didn't bother to mention. This isn't a gamer only channel and I can disagree with you or utube. get over it. As for GEN4 NVMe drives I think current sales of GEN4 drives show gamers agree with me. I...
0nly 16 cpu lanes to the PCIe sockets or 8X 8X. The second socket is 8X or two M.2 drives. One m.2 X4 on the mobo on cpu lanes and one M.2x4 on the mobo off the chipset. Very few gamers have a new GEN4 GPU. RX6000 or RTX3000 is ok on a GEN4 8X.
On boot I load my 32GB AMD/DRC RamDisk from a stored img file on my drive. That's seq. read speed on my storage drive. Were you well warned of the future limits of only 24 cpu lanes? When first gen Ryzen and first gen TR launched did any channel mention quad channel memory Vs dual channel...
90% of what I said was about GEN4 lanes for drives and GPUs. We have two generations of GEN4 NVMe drives out and all the new RX3000 and RX6000 GPUs are GEN4. Hell, Radeon's got a new GEN4 Radeon Pro VII. If utube hadn't pushed so hard to hold AMD's feet to the fire over 4 years of AM4 we would...
NVMe on chipset lanes may give you the light, but an NVMe running on cpu lanes won't. Just for a test move your NVMe drive from the first M.2 socket (cpu) to your second m.2 socket (chipset lanes) and test it. Those chipset lanes are sharing bandwidth with your SATA III drives and the front USB...
"no faster in practice" That's utube till dealers are out of stock. "buy a new b450 for a new ZEN3 cpu." That's utube till dealers are out of stock. Right> a gen 4 cpu lane twice as fast as a gen3 lanes isn't really any faster. Wait till Intel has gen4 lanes on their desktop boards. I want an...
I found that even with a gen3 mobo the gen4 drives run better. All my gen3 m.2 drives were 3300/2200, All 4 gen4 drives clock 3500/3500. Sabrent's drives are great.
-" Max. capacity of system memory: 128GB**" I did find that 128GB on a ZEN+ b450m on Asrock's website. The two gpus were only 8x and 4X sockets. A Zen+ B450M would be only GEN3 cpu lanes to the PCIe sockets. You can run new GEN4 gpus on a GEN4 8x socket. You need 8 dimm sockets of 32GB sticks...
$1000 Vs $1500 that's 2/3the price. Performance 75% of the 3090, no surprise there. I expected the 6800 to have 60CU and the 6900 tohave 80. But it was 72 and 80, the 6800XT looks better. That 6900XT for $300 more than the 6800XT should have had HBM2 ram. 75% of the performance for 66% of the...
