Hiya, folks.
I just wanted to chime in as an X58 driver.
I, in the good old years, OC'd Intel and AMD CPUs. Even an ATI 9500 Pro, or two.
As far as I know, there is no way to OC Dell Precision T3500 CPUs.
I'm not a pilot, nor am I an avionics expert.
What I am is a US Air Force vet whose AFSC (job title) was "Comm/Nav." My job covered all aspects of radio communication and RADAR, capitalized because it's an acronym, not talking down to anybody who knows that. I have more hours in the back of...
I'm glad that we, the US, have the NSA. But their covert activities are enough to make me put on my tinfoil hat. Their overt activities? All-over tinfoil. They're up to something, I tells ya.
Kinda just kidding.
I would dump Win 10 in favor of Linux in a heartbeat, but I just don't want to have to tinker with Linux to get the games I like to work. I used to like tinkering. I just don't really have the time for it these days. And even dual-booting isn't something that I want to mess with.
Well, as I...
Honestly, just using Windows Defender, and common sense, I have been just fine for three years so far. But if you want to give a free trial a go, give it a try. If you decide on a free version for everyday use, read lots of reviews first.
I really don't understand why you folks are coming down so hard on me.
Again, I wasn't trying to sell anything. And if I were selling anything, I would make it quite clear that the goods were from a smoking household.
I'm going to give my computer a good cleaning soon.
I know it's going to...
My MX518 is probably fixable. Mouse pointer just drifts to the left a bit. Yeah, everything has it's way of working out, the ebb and flow of time. Eventually I'll dig into it and fix it.
Eddies in the space-time continuum.
There is nothing on this site, or any sites, worthy of getting...
Hi there. I'm not trying to sell anything to anybody. I haven't blamed anybody for my computer being funkified by my smoking.
I don't have anybody breathing secondhand smoke from me.
Have a great night.

Was thinking about going with this:

Would I just connect it to a Molex connector, or is there a nearby 3pin header on the MoBo? I guess PWM...
Ahh, who needs them Russians, anyways? Anybody in the US government who feels separation anxiety because of Internet issues can just fly on over to Moscow. Problem solved.
Susquehannock, I guess this behemoth is going back to Amazon. I'm not sure how much that's going to end up costing me.
With modding the Dell U016F HS with an 80 mm fan, can you recommend a good fan? And I'm not sure where it could be plugged in.
Thanks for any help.
Hey there. I went ahead and ordered a CM Hyper 212 Evo, and some Noctua NT-H1 paste.
Yep, gonna pull the MoBo for the cleaning and cable management.
Thanks for the help, and the links!
Hiya. I went ahead and ordered a CM Hyper 212 Evo
Is there any reason not to use the OEM backplate? Also, my RAM doesn't have any sinks, so clearance should be fine.
Thanks!
Susquehannock, the box was very clean when I got it. But, like I said earlier, I'm a smoker. I'm not looking to go nuts with the cleaning, but I'm going to have to remove the MoBo to fix the wiring mess I have, so it will be a pretty thorough cleaning. How do you get the other side panel off?
Hi, all.
I have a Dell T3500 with the beefier HS, and X5672.
The time is coming for me to give the computer a good cleaning, as I'm a smoker.
Keeping in mind that I really don't have much money to play with, would this be good...
I have two 160GB 10k WD Raptors that a friend gave me. I used one for a while and it seemed fine. But I eventually went to a 120GB SSD, 240GB SSD, and 1TB Spinner setup.
I'm sure that the Raptors were a great solution at their time. And I'm sure the price was pretty high.
Tech keeps on...
I understand the outrage. But, having been in the military, the FBI already has my special double helices.
It's kind of a drag, really. Every crime I've ever really thought about committing, it would just be way too hard to keep my fingerprints and DNA from the crime scene.
Hi.
I've been using Bing as my search engine for a while now because I hope that the rewards points might win me something someday. Bing is, imho ok. I have Google as an easy backup.
My question is, have any of you folks ever won, or knew somebody that won, anything through the MS Rewards...
While 1TB sounds nice, and will probably be common in two or three years, my 16GB internal + 64GB MicroSD = 80GB is plenty for me right now. But tech stuff changes quickly.
