Loads of these on the secondary market, prices are falling down for some reason I do not understand. It's still the best card, and still mostly $1700-1900 new when including tax and depending on model. Asus Strix 4090 selling for $1650 in some places.
Decided to keep it, might as well build a second rig!

Selling my Gigabyte RTX 4090 Windforce as I recently bought a white one. Purchased brand new retail from Newegg on launch day, and willing to assist with warranty coverage if...
I would agree that it looks more noticeable in the photo than in person for sure. So I still have the little riser that they included with my Windforce that I might make use of for this - the bracket which is included with the Aero is a super nice premium thing but unfortunately, too wide given...
Yeah def as a last resort - but before actually removing as I also thought would be necessary, I had purchased a prolimatech slim 140mm fan (15mm) to replace the existing 25mm Fractal fan. However, based on the above, it turns out that wasnt necessary.
With the full air cooling setup I love...
Fitted a 343mm Gigabyte Aero ($1500 from NKD on [H]) into my Fractal Meshify 2 Compact today, absolutely flush with the Fractal case fans. No rubbing though (fit the warranty card between the card and fan just to check, and no odd noises or vibrations. Card running beautifully.
Haven't gone back into the game since day 1 raid was done to do another clear, but I am going to play at normal 165fps now that contest mode is turned off. Just couldnt afford any bugs.
I locked it 30fps to avoid getting insta-destroyed by some random geometry, physics or laser beam. I was incredibly durable at 30 fps. That is how I had to play in contest mode. Our entire team was playing at either 30 or 60 fps to avoid those issues with the game.
Forcing the power levels is just the most tonedeaf Division 1 mistake for endgame and it's silly. Sure, contest mode for day 1 raids. But otherwise, gate it appropriately by putting thought into developing power levels, instead of just force feeding us identical experiences.
Many in my clan -...
I like the mod changes quite a bit, but find the story falling dreadfully flat. The overeager point of contact, angry quest NPC, just not meshing with it very much. I read all of the lore, watch many lore vids, and am only vaguely interested in the story beats here as it seems intended to draw...
I am a newb to VR as my son has an oculus quest 2 that I have played for maybe 15 sicken minutes of RE4; this looks remarkably identical to the controllers on the quest 2 but I trust your statements that these are super good. Hoping to use for a VR racing setup (GT7) but yeah. any input as to...
I am very eager for reviews, but itll probably be a month or so. Ridiculous that AMD will have its top parts as the 7900X, the 7900XT, the 7900XTX, the 7900X3D, the 7950X and 7950X3D very cool guys. Just imagine for a day, being a partner trying to buy a gift from a wishlist, or worse, being a...
This guy, pending prices. I am on some slow DDR4 3600mhz CL16 and have been thinknig about dropping $250 on better kit when I can now just wait and upgrade to not only DDR5 but something much faster than a 5900x
This should have been released as the RTX 4070 at $599. It only makes sense as a -70 card due to the considerable die cut and lower memory, and lesser performance to the 4080. Given that the performance is roughly equivalent or barely superior to a 3080, it makes sense to be a 70 series card...
Just finished the main game, got my favorite ending that I never knew was my favorite, as I never got it before. Onto the expansions. About 100 hours for the main game thus far.
Folks, I finally realized I did not have DLSS Frame Generation turned on. I right-clicked display settings, and went to graphics settings, and clicked "hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling" to on.
(3440 x 1440p, RT ULTRA+)
Novigrad framerate No DLSS frame generation: 34 FPS
Novigrad framerate w/...
Good question, probably not, and less likely for a 2015 game but I feel the W3 conversation RE: pc performance could be part of a larger video going into other similar (recent) games (Scorn comes to mind) which have been problematic for powerful PCs.
I am really happy with my 4090 at 3440 x 1440p. I love the screen size and the resolution is the sweet spot where I expect most games to play at really great frames.
Finally gave in and retired my EVGA G3 750w and bought an EVGA G6 1000W PSU after 6 good years of use. That trusty 750w powered...
Finally played with the 1.5gb update. At least my GPU util % is up to 75% after previously being 35-50%. this corresponded with a nice increase in performance, as I am getting decent frames (60+) with RT Ultra+. Still disappointed, again, as the game does not look better than it used to with...
5800X3d and 5900x arent too far from each other in gaming. 1-2% at this resolution. if you are thinking 3440 x 1440p = 2560 x 1440p, I can see the confusion re the performance. Its between 1440p and 4k.
Glad you asked about the GPU utilization. With everything/RT On, all settings maxed, its...
My man, I’m on a 4090 running 3ghz core clock and getting 35 fps in novigrad at 3440x1440p with everything turned up. Turning off RT gets me to 60fps. I’m willing to accept I might be trading off some performance with my lowly 5900x but I’m not even at a full 4k, I’m running the latest drivers...
