No need to buy heatsink for TY-100, you can order TY-100 directly from Thermalright, just contact them
It is slightly more noisy than the Noctua but it's not too bad
You can't get the NF-A9x14 2.5W version without buying the whole NH-L9i cooler.
You can get TY-100 alone by contacting Thermalright.
NF-A9x14 2.5 is the best compromise between noise and cooling performance imo
Are you sure you used the 2.5W version of the NF-A9x14 and not the 1.4W version of NF-A9x14? The 2.5W version comes bundled with Noctua NH-L9i and spins faster. The 1.4W version comes when you buy the fan retail
In my testing on a core i7 6850K OC'd to 3.9Ghz and stressed with AIDA64...
It was my original idea to cram a 92mm slim fan below the mobo.
Honestly, just take the riser off the case, it's just 2 simple screws. Fit it back in when you are done installing the fan. Are people seriously trying to cram in a fan with the rise cable on? *facepalm*
Yea I travel internationally with this build and thus need max mobility. Also, I like stuffing big things into small spaces ;)
On a similar note, I gave away my M1 v5 for $50 for my mate's build we built together.
The hard drive cage easily allows you to mount 2. The top is attached to with the bottom screws, the bottom is attached to with the side screws and the cage is attached to the case with the cage's feet.
The CPU was first in an Ethoo Evolv with dual GTX 1080. Then I moved onto the Ncase M1 and now onto the Dancase. Not willing to give up HDD space :p
I have 2 drives under the PSU. the hard drive cage allows you to mount 2 drives.
Can't tighten the GPU fan zipties because they are under the fan...
Might as well post my build here
Specs:
core i7 6850K OC'd to 3.9Ghz
32GB RAM OC'd to 2800Mhz
GTX 1080Ti
2x5TB HDDs
1x500GB NVMe SSD
1x500GB SATA SSD
Corsair SF600 with Noctua mod
I have used Dynatron T318 with a Noctua 2.5W fan as the CPU Cooler. I am getting great temps imo, 55-58C idle...
That is normal, the issue was detailed in the SF600 thread.
There are two solutions,
1) If you are using the PSU header then use a NF-A9x14 bundled with the NH-L9i cooler. It won't have the same issue.
2) Just use a motherboard fan header
I think for an OEM machine, it is impressive but it would be unfair to say HEDT cannot fit in such form factor :/ Currently running 3.9Ghz on a 6850K in a Dan Case
Just did the fan change operation on my SF600 inside Dan case A4-SFX.
At first I connected the NH-L9i version of NF-A9x14(2.5W) to the 2 pin connector inside the PSU using the 3pin to 2pin adapter from NF-A4x10 package. I was still not happy with the noise levels at idle so I said fk it and...
