Not at least the price.
So in my mind this still leaves the Ubiquiti gear in play, and "pretty quiet" is a bonus.
I think this will come down to price - so it's local prices for PFsense vs Ubiquiti setup
Then again… now that I look into it, there is a pretty decent amount of Dell Optiplex for sale (mainly from offices) From 200 euro and below (just model and CPU)
9020: I5-4570
9010: I5-3470
7010: i5-3470s
7010: i3-3220
Perhaps that could be an inexpensive way to go, If I added a NIC.
Oh I see, thanks.
I guess for the DIY builds undervotling is a viable option, to reduce power consumption? (Not for your solution I guess when you are running other services :p). And it is tempting with the DIY solution, mainly because It has been a while since I build a computer. I could of...
Ha ha okay maybe I will invest in a better switch. Any suggestions?
So to separate AP's, do you have some good examples of inexpensive ones?
Do you have any tips for pfsense box, netgates seem a little expensive and might not deliver speeds. Something like a Qotom-Q350 might be interesting but I...
Hi there
I am moving to a large house in the summer and will get a full gigabit connection (1000/1000). At the same time, I am giving my devices a good look over and adding some new, like Roborock robot vacuum cleaners. Unfortunately, I have given up rooting the vacuum cleaners, and I do not...
I got my parts from shakemods but another user also recommended highflow - note these are Europe-based.
Others should feel free to correct me, but pins and plugs are completely generic - you just have to make sure to get plugs with the right number of sockets and layout (It is in the product...
Beware: wall of pictures. Couldn't help myself.
As a couple of you talked about a few posts ago, I also considered Cablemod for custom length cables. They were however a little expensive (but worth it I am sure) so I also checked with the guys on Aliexpress who I never heard from. So, my...
Hey there
So, I have decided to make my own PSU cables for my SF450. I have the Dan Cases A4-SFX (Both v1 and v2) and thought it would be cool to have cables that are not way to long. I have some experience with soldering and management wires, but will be new to crimping which will be cool...
Wow totally unexpected the postman have just dropped by with the case. (Denmark) As I now plan the move from v1 to V2, I come back to a PSU cable issue.
Do any of you have any experience shortening the Corsair sf450 cables? To sound cheap, the cablemod route is pretty expensive (more than the...
I just clicked "like this" on each of the Dan forums. However, I, and I am certain all other likers, mean to also wish a very merry Christmas and a happy new year, to you and your family.
... Just to clarify :-)
That might not be the case's fault. I have the same motherboard and it shows the same ridicolous temps. (also when not in the Dan case) However, Asus could not really be bothered, and all I got was a vague confirmation that it was an error but they would not replace it.
I'm not familiar with the possible gains of delidding 4790K but it should give at least a little improvement.
As it is a K i'm fairly certian you can undervolt. Doing so on my 6700K improved temperatures greatly.
I don't think your temperatures are anywhere near dangerous, but if you want I'm...
I do not have the strix, but somewhat the same issue (BIOS shows correct vcore, HWmonitor/CPU-Z/AIDA64 and so on shows the "high" vcore) But I have significantly lowered temperatures by lowering vcore and disabling multicore enhancement.
In your awesome cooler overview Meccabolix i seem to have missed the orientation of your fans. I have just installed the LP53 with Noctua a9x14, vertical orientation and used your YouTube video as reference - this have left me with the fan pushing air towards the CPU. Is this the correct...
Finally, I have the time to comment my own question.
Pretty much agree with Rappy and cowsgomoo2 - because I expect lower noise level, better cooling and two HDMI. But of course, reviews are needed.
The whole thing is only wishful thinking, I don't think my SF450 is enough for it. So, a new PSU...
Sooo… as earlier mentioned the Asus 1080 Ti strix seems to be a measly 75 mm too wide. What you guys think, throw in the towel or squeeze and accept some "tension"?
That is a minblowing idea! So simple but effective, perfect!
As a truely uncreative person when it comes to cables I just have to say I'm sorry - if I ever get to doing custom cables, thats the way I'll go. I could of course put a small note on the cables, thanking you guys... ;)
On that note...
I must admit I lack the more technical insights to the cooler design, but that sounds quite nice with the placement and fan options. Also it's not bad to look at.
I completely agree with okwchin no concerns over fiddly when you gain so much.
Speaking of all the cooling, what are the group's consensus on delid/relid? I have a 6700k with Cryorig C7 - despite the noise, temperatures are ok. However, lower is always nicer, especially as it results in lower RPMs.
Like many other I agree it would be interesting, but is it feasable? Have all available options been exhausted - it would be a great same if you put time and money info, and another product can compete in price and performance.
However, if there is no competition or it requires heavy modning...
