it does seem like a futile effort.. but man. my 290x's were dead silent.. that is of course until they hard locked my system without warning and sent a shrieking sound through the speakers.
wow this thread grew a bit. for the record i did a fresh w10 install, used DDU, but was still experiencing slowdowns. so i ended up returning the laptop and built a 1080gtx/6700k rig in a fractal mini, paired with a benq zowie xl2411.
I've gone through 4 TXP's, 2 1080 FE's, a 1070 IN A GDAMN NOTEBOOK, and now the 1080 Hybrid.
THEY ALL HAVE COIL WHINE. WHAT THE HELL NVIDIA.
k that's it.
Alright brief update. I did a refresh installation of windows and i'm still experiencing some slowdowns. According to afterburner the GPU isn't ever fully utilized so I'm wondering if it's a CPU bottleneck.
So I just snagged one of these from Amazon (1080P @ 15", GTX1070, 6700HQ) with the assumption that the GTX1070 could max most games out at 1080P. However this does not appear to be the case.
Fallout 4 - Even using FXAA, frame rates will dip into the low 40's.
GTA V - Also seeing frames in the...
Finally got around to taking a few pics of my recently finished build. It's got a 5960x from a previous build. Mobo is the RVE10, and a pair of titan pascals.
The mobo lighting looks very blue in the pictures but is actually closer to a sky blue IRL. I wanted white, but the RGB lighting is far...
just a word of caution - o.m.g. ust finished my first play through and am feeling lost and hopeless. nothing else in my library has or will come close to what i just experienced for the past hundred hours or so. CDPR really outdid themselves. wow.
here's what I've done so far:
- disabled SLI - works great
- changed SLI bridges - still artifacts then crashes
- DDU + different driver versions - still artifacts then crashes
- underclocked 'bad' card - artifacts, flickers, basically hangs in there for just a little longer - still artifacts...
i have an evga p2 1200 and also tried it on a corsair ax1500i. both whine. seems like there are a handful of owners on overclock.net with whining pascals as well.
Any recommendations? Hm, I also found a 350+ comment thread on reddit where Turn10 has reached out to the public for performance logs as they recognize a lot of people are having stuttering and frame drops. I want to LOVE THIS GAME but its so hard to right now! good thing my homie Geralt is...
is anyone finding this game jittery? like i'll be well over 60 fps but still feels like a micro-stutter type of jitter. even though sli is not enabled. happens on my friend's computer too.
thanks for the follow-up! so are you more happy with the dell's colors than asus after calibration? sure seems like the dell is a great value but am curious on your thoughts if cost wasn't a consideration and both monitors were heads up against each other.
thanks, again!
i'm working on a build with a P3 right now. mGPU cabling is a challenge with 4 cables. also my case (the "SE") didn't come with the little support piece that goes between your power supply and horizontal tray when you mount your gpu up-right. huh. everything else has a high quality feel to it...
Hey guys check out my eBay post for an AX1500i with Cablemod Kit.
Corsair AX1500i with Cablemod Kit
I'm about to put together a Core P3 and the AX1500i is just too long.
Right, i don't own a Titan XP. I own two. There's nothing wrong with either of them and they do work great. The point I am making is that they are (especially not 1 card), not the end-game, resurrection of christ that jen hsun wants you to believe they are. If you have a great experience with...
dang guy why are you so mad? do some donuts in a grassy area with the city in the background, kick up some dust, and ill be impressed if your overclock keeps you from dipping below 60 fps. mind you this is with a 5960x at 1600P (i gave up on 4K). i speak from personal experience as i had a...
that was me for the past year, until recently. i think using headphones really increases the immersion factor and probably helped me get over the hump. there is just so much to appreciate about how masterfully choreographed the visuals, music, and characters are. story-wise, i personally found...
